Hi all! My name is Merijn, and I am a master finance student at the University of Groningen, serving as Commissioner of External Relations for GIT. My interest lies at the intersection of macroeconomic analysis and portfolio construction, specifically how macro dynamics should inform asset allocation decisions, and how passive instruments can be structured and timed to express those views efficiently.
Alongside my work at GIT, I run The Slot Analysis, a monthly newsletter covering macro policy developments, ETF strategy, and LBO case studies. Previously, I served as a macro analyst at the Kobe Investment Circle during my exchange semester at Kobe University in Japan.
When I am not at GIT, you will usually find me outside, behind a camera, or having a good time with friends. I also work as a sustainability advisor within the Nij Begun programme.
